§ 33.01. OATH FOR POLICE PERSONNEL.

  • (A)

    The Chief of Police, police officers, reserve police and auxiliary police shall before entering upon their official duties take the following oath:

    "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, protect and defend the Constitution and Government of the United States, the State of Florida and the City of Delray Beach; that I am qualified to serve as a police officer in the City of Delray Beach; and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter, so help me God."

    (B)

    The City Clerk is authorized to administer the oath to the Chief of Police and the Chief of Police is authorized to administer the oath to the officers, reserve police and auxiliary police.
