§ 34.03. NOTICE OF ELECTIONS.

  • (A)

    The Mayor (or Vice Mayor) shall by proclamation give notice of all elections and cause the proclamations to be published as follows:

    (1)

    For the first nonpartisan election, once each week in the two (2) weeks preceding the election.

    (2)

    For the second nonpartisan election, if necessary, once in the week preceding the election.

    (3)

    For all special elections, notice shall be given as required by law.

    (B)

    The proclamation shall contain the following:

    (1)

    The date of the election;

    (2)

    The purpose of the election;

    (3)

    The hours during which voting shall take place;

    (4)

    Who can vote in the election.

    (5)

    Other information as may be required by law.

    (C)

    Additional Posting Required. In addition, the City Clerk shall post in a conspicuous place in City Hall, a list of the precinct numbers and addresses of the polling places to be used, changes to any polling place, and the proclamation set forth above.
