§ 51.73. DELINQUENT PAYMENTS; LIEN.

  • Any bill remaining unpaid for a period of thirty (30) days after rendition shall be delinquent. A late fee shall be assessed by the City in the amount of one and one-half percent of the unpaid balance on delinquent customer accounts receiving residential service. If a delinquent bill is not paid, or a protest or appeal is not filed (and later processed in accordance, generally, with the procedures set forth in Section 52.51) within eighteen (18) days, the City may file a lien against the property and may pursue foreclosure of the lien as well as all other legal remedies available to it, the owner being responsible for all costs and attorney's fees.
