§ 53.024. CONNECTING PRIVATE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM TO PUBLIC SEWER.

  • The owner, or tenant/occupant if authorized by the owner, of each lot or parcel of land within the City which abuts on or is within two hundred (200) feet of any street, utility easement or public way containing a sanitary sewer, which is served or which can be served by the sewage system and upon which lot or parcel a building has been constructed for residential, commercial, or industrial use shall connect the building with the sanitary sewer within ninety (90) days after the sanitary sewer is available to that building for use, and shall cease the use of any septic tanks, cesspools and similar private sewage disposal facilities, which, shall be abandoned in accordance with health department standards.
