§ 7.8.7. Liability of enforcement personnel.

  • Any officer or employee, or member of a board, charged with the enforcement of this chapter acting for the City in the discharge of their duties, shall not thereby render themselves personally liable, and are hereby relieved from all personal liability for any damage that may accrue to persons or property as a result of any act required or permitted in the discharge of their duties. Any suit brought against any officer or employee because of an act performed in the enforcement of any provision of this chapter shall be defended by the City Attorney or Special Counsel retained by the City Commission, until the final termination of the proceedings, providing the individual acted within the scope of his authority.
